SGLI after retirement and pay scale.?

I'm trying to determine if someone is being factual with me. Does Servicemembers Group Life Insurance carry with them at retirement? Does it become a different type of policy/have a different carrier? What would be the monthly pension amount for an O-4, Major with 30 years of service and an Honorable Discharge (Retirement)?
